It will take you roughly a year to qualify. The course consists of eight teaching days and an exam day in modules of 2 or 3 days. There are less teaching days than with other recognised Bowen courses because as a health care professional you already have knowledge of anatomy and physiology. You already know general treatment principles and you already are experienced with hands on treatment. However, the total time it takes to qualify is not shorter. It requires a lot of practice to perform the Bowen Move to perfection.
After module one (spine, ankle, knee, hamstring, shoulder, elbow, wrist) you will be able to practice the technique. You will be able to treat a lot of the musculo-skeletal problems you see in your day to day clinic. After doing ten case studies and the review day, you can do module two (pelvic, coccyx, asthma, breast, TMJ, hayfever, kidney). This module further expands the Bowen Technique and integrates the different moves and you will find you can help patients with a wider range of problems, eg. hayfever, asthma, IBS, etc. etc. After two more review days and another ten case studies there is the exam.
The School is dedicated to help you become a Bowen Therapists of a very high standard. The maximum number of students on any course is 12 to guarantee each student the attention needed to fine-tune the Bowen Move and become a confident and competent Bowen Practitioner. The course is approximately 20% theory and 80% practice. There will be back-up support (usually by email) during the entire course to help you learn this fascinating technique. You will be provided with extensive course notes which will help you practice the technique at work or home in between modules. You will also get individual written feedback on your case studies.
The total cost of the course is £855.00 (£95.00 per day) and is payable in three stages.
